Centipid Collections is the fastest payment option for Ugandan ISPs who want to start accepting Mobile Money payments without setting up a separate gateway account first. For accounts with country Uganda (UG), Centipid shows Centipid Collection in the Payment Gateway dropdown. You do not need to upload business documents, API keys, wallet IDs, or provider credentials before getting started. Select the gateway, save your payment settings, and customer payments will be processed through Centipid.
Centipid only allows one active payment gateway at a time. When you select and save a gateway in the Payments tab, it becomes the gateway used for all online payments until you switch to another one.

When to use Centipid Collections

Use Centipid Collections when:
  • You are in Uganda and want to start collecting customer payments quickly.
  • You do not yet have documents ready for a direct gateway onboarding process.
  • You want Centipid to handle the collection flow while you manage customers, packages, receipts, and withdrawals from the dashboard.
  • You want payment records to appear automatically in Centipid after customers pay.
If you already have your own IOTEC, PawaPay, PesaPal, or another supported gateway account, you can still use that instead. Centipid Collections is designed for the quickest start.

Enable Centipid Collections

  1. Sign in to your Centipid dashboard.
  2. Open System Settings → Payments.
  3. In Payment Gateway, choose Centipid Collection.
  4. Review the information shown under Centipid Collections. It explains that customer collections will be processed through Centipid and that withdrawals are handled from the Payments page.
  5. Save your settings.
After saving, customers can pay from your captive portal or checkout flow using the active payment process. No provider dashboard setup is required before the first collection.

Track collections

Once Centipid Collection is active, the dashboard shows collection records under Finance → Payments → Collections. Use this page to monitor:
  • Status – Pending, Success, or Failed.
  • Amount – the value collected from the customer.
  • Phone – the Mobile Money number used for payment.
  • Receipt – the captured receipt number when available.
  • Created / Processed time – when the request was created and when it was completed.
Open a collection to view more details. Admin and support users can also inspect request and callback payloads when troubleshooting a payment with Centipid support.

Withdraw your balance

Admins can withdraw available Centipid balance from the Payments page.
  1. Open Finance → Payments.
  2. Click Withdraw.
  3. Enter the amount to withdraw. The minimum withdrawal amount is UGX 500.
  4. Review the fee preview shown in the modal.
  5. Enter the recipient MTN or Airtel Mobile Money number in Uganda format.
  6. Click Send OTP, then enter the 6-digit code sent to your email.
  7. Submit the withdrawal.
Withdrawal attempts appear under Finance → Payments → Withdrawals, where you can track the status, requested amount, recipient amount, payout method, failure reason, and vendor transaction reference.

Important notes

  • No documents are required to get started. You can enable Centipid Collections without uploading registration documents or waiting for gateway approval.
  • Uganda only. Centipid Collections appears for accounts whose country is set to UG.
  • Mobile Money withdrawals only. Withdrawals currently ask for a Ugandan MTN or Airtel Mobile Money number.
  • Admin-only withdrawals. The Withdraw action is available to admins when Centipid Collections is active and you are not impersonating another account.
  • One gateway at a time. Switching to another gateway stops new online payments from using Centipid Collections.

Troubleshooting

  • Centipid Collection is not in the dropdown – confirm your account country is set to Uganda (UG).
  • Collections page is missing – confirm Centipid Collection is the active payment gateway and that your user is an admin or support user.
  • Withdraw button is missing – only admins can withdraw, and the button is hidden during impersonation.
  • Invalid Mobile Money number – enter a valid Ugandan MTN or Airtel number, for example 0700000000.
  • Withdrawal fails – open Withdrawals, review the failure reason, then retry with the correct recipient number or contact Centipid support.
