Use the System Settings → SMS Gateway tab to choose the provider Centipid uses for SMS notifications (for example signup confirmations, payment alerts, or low-balance reminders). Only one SMS gateway is active at a time; switching the dropdown moves all outbound SMS traffic to the selected provider. SMS Gateway settings in System Settings
Need another provider? Click Request SMS Gateway in the dropdown helper, submit the form, and the Centipid team will follow up.

Country availability

Options in the SMS Gateway dropdown depend on your country:
  • Tanzania: NextSMS, Infobip, Beem SMS
  • Uganda: Beem SMS, UGSMS, Pandora SMS, Infobip, Iotec SMS
  • Ghana: Arkesel, Infobip, SMS Online Ghana
  • Nigeria: KudiSMS, Infobip
  • Kenya: Centipid SMS, Advanta SMS, Bonga SMS, Africa’s Talking, Byte Wave, Mobi Tech, Taifa Mobile, Text SMS, Celcom Africa, AfroKatt, Phitech, Host Pinnacle / Bulk SMS, Beem SMS, Talk Sasa, Mobile Sasa, Infobip, Blessed Texts, Onfon Media, Ujumbe SMS, MSPACE
  • Other countries: Infobip.

Setup steps

  1. Open System Settings → SMS Gateway.
  2. Pick your provider in the SMS Gateway dropdown.
  3. Fill the fields that appear for that provider using the credentials from your SMS account (see the reference below).
  4. For Centipid SMS, you can also enable SMS Balance Alert, set a threshold (KSH), and provide a notification phone to get low-balance warnings.
  5. Click Save to apply the gateway.

Sender ID for Centipid SMS

  • Default sender ID: CENTIPID.
  • If you need a custom sender ID, contact Centipid support on WhatsApp: +254 742 324 193.
    • Cost: KES 6,500 (requires company certificate and KRA PIN).
    • You will fill, stamp, and return a sender ID request letter provided by Centipid.
  • Cost per SMS (Centipid SMS): KES 0.4 per 160 characters.
